The day of the Jeckel

no-one knows better
no-one knows more
we stand amazed
you look to heavens door

water floods the sinks
kettles boil the water
coffee jars come out
lambs go to slaughter

butter mountains rot
public interest lost
decomposition
no-one sees the cost

oil is running out
does not seem to matter
last reserves deepen
leave the most as latter

coin in the interest
send out the word
if you want your petrol
join the herd

leave us behind
your untold legacy
your past, your trail
your backward led history

forget the relevance
of the Jeckel day
after all, the relevance
is the Jeckel day

it means nothing at all
a simple world astray
mixed in opinions
asleep throughout the day

when you wake from slumber
out of your cots and hay
nothing will make sense
you have nothing left to say

the way that you have led
yourselves into a pit
you never fell into
can you get out of it

the answer is simply no
what can you do
seven doors through hell
waiting for you

it will not start with a spike
but a badness in your heart
a feeling that will last
as you and we part

goodbye then is the word
finally the truth is told
you will live the simple life
you seek in your pot of gold
